Australian trio PVT is really gone to town with your festive playlist. So sit back and enjoy while the band Richard explains their decisions Pike...
John mouse - Bennington
John mouse is a bedroom composer/singer, political theory teaches at the University of Hawaii. This is a great b site, but all have real is to his record of love for which features only drum machines, synths and his voice of the low and disturbing mantra-like lyrics / / Kollektivische. This was the only entry that I couldn't stand to listen to in a sea of inane new music for a while. The vinyl is also translucent.
Grasscut - Muppet (Nathan fake Remix)
Dave (from PVT) suggested that we get Nathan fake to remix so I out my favorite electro track was his stuff checked and this this year. He is a bit like a postmodern master, blurs the line between producer/engineer/audio Sensei. Nathan remixed our last single light up bright fires, which is excellent.
Depeche Mode propaganda
I never heard to DM when I was young. A friend recommended check out songs of faith and devotion we hear our new album. This track is a cracker - Dave Gahan sings like he means it.
The units high pressure days
A good friend I played this recently. Why have I never heard this band? Early 80s post-punk, San Francisco with amazing keyboard and programming work. They are as Devo, but with a more relaxed vibe. And no one is to hear from you. Why?
Scott Walker - Copenhagen
PVT played Copenhagen this year for the first time. We have a parking fine once we got there and our tour van was broken that night. Then we played in Christiania, basically a hippie commune kinda like barter town in Mad Max 3. We went to for hours landmark mermaid statue which turned to be exported to China. Copenhagen not even a place. Personally I don't believe in Copenhagen. Fortunately, this route is great. Beautiful orchestration.
David Bowie - Crystal Japan
A b site, produced by Brian Eno, which should be regarded as a classic ambient. I think Trent Reznor owes something to this segment.
Alan Vega Saturn drive
Alan Vega's 1980s solo redirects of suicide are a trip.
Jonathan Richman - when I dance
Only really Jonathan Richman discovered this year. I know people who are just like him, but he applies his drunken Insecurites womanising in great songs.
Here go we magic casual
PVT a remix of these guys this year, and you the most beautiful bunch are indeed. Made broken social scene look complete amateurs if you opened in London for you. Jen is the bassist of the new Tina Weymouth, if that goes too far. The clip for this song is really great, but is NSFW.
Elvis Presley - I'll never let you go (Lil Darlin')
I put this in for my girlfriend. Elvis swoons and shows. Singing was a joke to him. I love also the vocal delay/reverb. He plays into really. No one makes you like this more.
PVT-Felicity's blue dress
Thought I'd put in a PVT b page that nobody has really heard. This track make not the cut of the album, but it is one of the best things I've written.
György Ligeti - Lux AETERNA
Famous perhaps for in 2001: a space Odyssey is a nice a cappella choir piece. I loved this for years. I have yet to hear it live, but I'm sure I'd bliss out.
Church No. magic released their album PVT earlier this year. You can buy it here. For more info check out warp.net/pvt PVT
