I put this in the category "Album Reviews" but really, that's more how early impressions give thing as a proper review. I'm only on my second listen.
For those with short attention span which is expected to be postponed by my rambling let first to get me to the point: I recommend a deliciously ambitious album Sufjan give this Steven's new album, The Age of Adz, hear is a bunch of sounds to get in not (I can attest that I absolutely love it am and I've heard it twice only.)
"" The first song, "Sinnlos" devices "," recalls some of his earlier work (Michigan & Illinoise.) It's a cool track, but I must admit that I was not too excited about the idea of him do an album was full of stuff in this style (I've already heard it.)
The second track, "Too Much", is this concern to rest. It's kind of an electro indie pop song with classical influences. It combines an infectious Melody with some crazy electronic noise. And then the layer upon layer of fantastic Orchestration (votes, rhythmic electronic noise, synthesizer, & classic Instrumentation) built on top of the core melody. And then the track really takes a left turn and transforms something hard to describe ist.Und I think that in the most free ways.It sounds very fresh in my Ohren.Eine very ambitious combination of styles and I think he made it to work.
This ambitious combination of pop songwriting, band Studio manipulation and classic style orchestration really sets the tone for the rest of the album. And that of not to say, "monotonous" gets it because I think, these songs each have their own sound world, only the rest of the album does that make sense as a continuation of that enable links "Too Much."
I would like to mention the texts.I'm not usually someone, lyrics / / noticed that much, but quite a few of the texts in this album have caught my ear.I am not sure, what Stevens speaks in these songs, but whenever I have a line to catch; It tends to give me the Schüttelfrost.Dies is some intense music.
I will give no song by song run down of the rest of it, although this album certainly, that kind of attention verdient.Ich think you I need it to itself to listen with really a hard time getting coming up to describe words or say what it sounds like, and I think that is a good sign that there is something very special.Get it.
