Live Review: Bear in heaven and twin shadow, Music Hall of Williamsburg 11/19/10

It was made a show, you proud, a transplant of Brooklyn.

How many come a young resident of the borough, the Brooklyn bands in the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Virginia on Friday night from somewhere else. Twin shadow'sGeorge Lewis Jr. comes from Florida and bear in heaven's origins can be traced to Atlanta, GA.Aber both bands found your musical legs in Brooklyn and Friday's show was her homecoming party for BIH, who travelled almost non-stop had their criticism since version 2009 celebrated album beast rest forth mouth.

The last night of the tour began with a strong, took electro pop Philadelphia Sun Airways, who got was the 80s nostalgia twin shadow shows the stage. George set up began, the Music Hall went to comfortably full fully packed show how fast the Lewis in Brooklyn and beyond rising star. We our way to front the total twin effect chipped, and it was ON. George is a powerhouse mix of Prince's hook, Morrissey's romantic melancholy and Bowie-like sense for Androgyny (not to mention his singing). The twin shadow debut album forget is flooded in pure, synthed-Out emotion, awesome with delicate electro beats and occasional acoustic Flourishes…so surprise of his live show is that Lewis an ACE e guitar he rocked by the entire set.If in a hassle-free solo in the middle of the single "I can't wait," we could not help the infectious crack Prince comparison again to draw supports by a super tight band, Lewis was cool as a cucumber yet fully engaged, even stop mid set, pulling forward to a joint by a fan. It was this crazy balance of earned high spirits with sweet vulnerability, the crowd around twin shadow's musical finger had wrapped.

It was hard to think, how we would switch gears even under the twin shadow magic, but bear in heaven had covered it: extreme fog. Yes, set up as the band began, was blanketing of the stage in a vague cloud and bright back-lit for emphasis, the fog machine in full effect. It sounds like a cheap bit of the theatrics, but it was really cool appropriate backdrop for bear in heaven's larger-than-life, cinematic sounds. Seen the band at SXSW, I remember it less than a second for your vibe is in, existing beyond category and crowned by frontman Jon Philpot's unique pitched vocals. This was not the case this time around.Chalk it up to the fog or the band packed year shows, but we were world of dreamy drone from the first note in BIH's and synthy atmospheric transported. for a three man outfit, Jon, Joe and Adam a huge wall of sound create grabs you from the get go.through your collar, but persistently innen.Es Psych rock is the experimental, but Joe Stickney's solid back beats along with Adam Wills seamless guitar loops aiming our feet on the ground continues to move, although the overall experience felt a little like floating.

Towards the end of the sentence, Jon was a heartfelt shout-out the Brooklyn lot, express, how happy to be a show, the band was returned after Hause.Es was be gladly in Brooklyn, every hipster posing and just feel happy to live in a place where bands that can sell so clearly as twin shadow and bear in heaven ready from the Music Hall and is likely to forget (hopefully) play a local show or two in the not too distant future.
